Don't be f*cking afraid

Live a fearless life

What the f*ck are you afraid of?

Death? We’re all gonna die.

Bankruptcy? You can make it all back.

Shame? Everyone will forget in a week.

What the f*ck are you afraid of? There is nothing to fear.

Fight for the life you deserve.

Living fearlessly is the only way to truly live.

Fear is a thief that steals our dreams. The amazing things in life are on the other side of fear.

Look at the greatest innovators. They dared to dream. They faced rejection and criticism. But they persevered.

Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.

Les Brown

You need to build a bulletproof mindset strong enough to keep going when the whole world tells you to stop. Believe in your vision.

Insight

You can be afraid, but you have to be willing to act regardless. It is not the fear, it is the lack of action.

We all have fears. The path to our dreams is paved with uncertainty. Things will go wrong sometimes. Things will go really bad. Sh*t happens. It's part of the game.

Risk and failure are the currency of growth. Without them, you remain stagnant.

That setback will make you understand something that, if you suddenly succeeded at first, would be your downfall—because you would overlook it completely.

Go out there now. Make mistakes. Get better. Keep going, my friend.

Whatever it is that you do, don't live ruled by fear because it will paralyze your potential. To live to your full potential, you need lose the fearful attitude.

Without fear you will be unstoppable.

Actionable Step

Take a few quiet minutes to picture yourself living completely without fear.

Visualize what you would look like if hesitation wasn’t holding you back.

What would your daily routine be? How would you carry yourself, speak, or make decisions? What dreams or goals would you start pursuing without delay?

Unscripted film interview with Steve Jobs in 1994. In this film clip from that interview, Steve discusses his thoughts on the topic of failure.

Get out of the pit of fear. This scene serves as an analogy to our theme where Bruce (Christian Bale) tries to escape from the underground prison and only by failing multiple times. Your journey pushing through the fear will often feel similar. Keep going.

The Feedback Loop

“There was a time back in my final year of school, I had a big presentation to make in front of my friends, classmates and school officials- an audience of over 200 people.

Honestly, public speaking wasn't something I enjoyed. I used to dread even the thoughts of standing in front of a crowd . I remember the night before, I could barely get sleep. My mind kept replaying scenarios were I'd freeze or forget everything.

The morning of my presentation, I felt like backing out my hands were already shaky even before getting to school. But then, I remembered something my mom once told me:

"The only way to grow is to face what screw you most" so, I took a deep breath, told myself what's the worst that can happen? I got to school and walked up the stage.

At first, my voice cracked, and my thoughts were jumbled, but then I spotted a friend in the crowd who nodded encouragingly.

That gave me the confidence to slow down, take my time, and just focus on the message I wanted to share. By the end of my presentation, I realized I had made it through without completely messing up - and the audience even clapped too. That experience taught me that fear doesn't go away entirely but when you take actions despite it, you'll find out it's not as bad as you even imagined. Fear is fake reality appearing real.” - David, founder of @_gawdor
