See the divine in the ordinary
You overlook miracles every day

Remember when you were a kid?
Back then, everything felt bigger. Brighter. Full of possibilities.
You didn’t just play with toys — you brought them to life.
You saw entire worlds in your imagination.
But as you grew up, you were told to stop seeing it that way.
The world didn’t stop being magical and divine.
But you stopped seeing it.
INSIGHT
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
You’ve been conditioned to see this grand scheme of life as regular and boring.
If it’s not loud, shiny, or flashy, aesthetically curated, it’s ignored.
The truth is the real magic is in the quiet. The trivial. The magic you seek is hidden in the things you overlook. The divine is already here.

I bring you the concept of divine here not as a religious idea, but as something from a higher power — whichever you believe in — that is responsible for this grand scheme beyond our comprehension we call life.
You drink a cup of coffee, and your energy shifts.
You listen to a song, and your mood transforms.
You take a deep breath, and your anxiety melts away.
The way your body heals from a cut.
How you can learn and grow and adapt.
How laughter and joy is possible despite so many setbacks.
We chase miracles, not realizing we’re walking through them.
Open your eyes. The divine isn’t waiting. It’s here.
We get sold on lies.
Society tells you that happiness means wealth.
Luxury cars. Watches that cost as much as houses. Vacations in exotic places.
If you don’t have it, they say you’re missing out.
So you grind. Hustle. Chase.
Gratitude gets lost in the noise.
You feel like life isn’t enough.
If you can't be happy with a coffee, you won't be happy with a yacht.
Happiness is beyond all, a decision.
You can be happy now.
You can decide to enjoy the things you already have now — despite what you don't have yet.
This doesn't mean you stop striving for more or you won't experience bad things.
It means you enjoy now while building tomorrow.
It means you understand suffering often comes from what you emphasize, not what you experience.
Your perspective will either benefit or torment you.
Choose wisely.
ACTION
Defamiliarization is the art of seeing the ordinary as extraordinary.
It’s a concept from literary theory coined by Russian formalist Viktor Shklovsky in 1917. The idea is to take something familiar and present it in such a way that you see it with fresh eyes — as if for the first time. It’s like stripping away your automatic assumptions and viewing it with raw curiosity.
I find it a very interesting concept you can apply to your life.
Here are 7 practical techniques to train this perspective:
1. Focus on the origins:
Pick an object — a pen, for example.
Think about how it got there.
The materials mined from the earth, transported, manufactured, assembled, shipped, and finally purchased.
The complexity of its existence becomes astonishing.
2. Imagine it didn’t exist:
Think about something as if it was suddenly removed from your life.
Electricity. Running water. Elevators.
Imagine if you had to pump your water, light candles for light, or walk 20 floors.
Suddenly, the mundane feels miraculous.
You gain immense gratitude for regular things.
3. Zoom In and Zoom Out:
Look at the smallest detail of something — your hand, a leaf, a piece of fabric.
Notice the tiny lines, textures, and patterns.
Then zoom out: Think about the vastness of the universe and how tiny that object is in the grand scheme.
This perspective shift makes the familiar feel grand and surreal.
4. Change your physical perspective:
Lie down and look at the ceiling like it’s the floor.
Sit on the ground and observe the room from a child’s height.
Stand on a chair and look down at your workspace.
Physically changing your viewpoint changes how your mind interprets it.
5. Describe objects like you’re explaining to a child:
Kids ask why because everything is new to them.
Try describing something simple, like a door, without using its name or typical descriptions.
“A flat barrier that swings open when pushed, revealing another space. It’s controlled by a twisting mechanism.”
This forces you to notice details you take for granted.
6. Apply the “If I Were from 100 Years Ago” Trick:
Imagine you were teleported here from 1925.
Your phone would look like sorcery.
Street lights turning on by themselves? Witchcraft.
Streaming video through the air? Impossible.
This makes you appreciate the everyday tech as the miracles they are.
7. Pretend you’re an alien visitor:
Imagine you’re seeing Earth for the very first time.
You have no concept of cars, smartphones, or even sidewalks.
Look at a refrigerator and marvel at how a metal box can keep food fresh for days.
Watch traffic and see it as massive metal machines zooming by in perfect sync.
This mindset breaks your familiarity and lets you appreciate the strangeness of everyday things.
All those are fun ways you can try to look at things from a different perspective and develop awareness about your life. Be amazed by the ordinary.
Today, notice something ordinary and look deeper. Slow down.
Pay attention to the amount of details surrounding you.
The texture of the walls. The positioning of the furniture. The traffic outside. The wind blowing. Look at the sky, the clouds, the birds flying by.
You are watching in real time the show of life.
You have senses to appreciate all of those things to some extent.
Be grateful. Be aware. Be present.
See the divine in the ordinary.
