Why are you so ungrateful?

We need to have a serious conversation

You have a roof over your head.

You have food on your table.

You are healthy.

You have people who care about you.

Your normal day is someone else’s dream life.

Life could be a thousand times worse.

It might not be exactly where you want it to be, but there are still amazing things in it that you enjoy every day.

Yet, you still choose to focus on the negative.

You’d rather dwell on what you lack than appreciate what you have.

It’s time to change that.

Insight

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Robert Brault

Gratitude is the secret to everything you want in life.

Your life is ruled by your mind.

What you think will multiply in your reality.

When you focus on the good things you have, you’ll develop a positive attitude that envisions and moves toward more good things.

But when you focus on what you lack or dislike, you cultivate a scarcity-driven, negative mindset—and bad things are what you’ll get.

If you think negatively, you’ll live negatively.

If you think positively, you’ll live positively.

Ever had a great day and some bullsh*t happens and you feel like the day was ruined?

That's ungratefulness at its core.

It overshadows all the amazing things that previously happened or that might happen in the future.

Sometimes the day isn't even over, but once that bullsh*t happened you go with a negative bias towards whatever happens from that moment on.

Be grateful for another day. Photo by NO NAME.

I know it’s hard to maintain a positive mindset every moment, but we need to try our hardest.

Gratitude is the quality of being thankful and showing appreciation for the things, people, or experiences in your life.

Gratitude will…

  • Make you more patient.

  • Help you feel more relaxed.

  • Allow you to experience more positive emotions by shifting your focus from worries to appreciation.

  • Strengthen your relationships by helping you cherish the people in your life.

  • Unlock fountains of creativity, because a positive mind sees possibilities, not problems.

Aren’t those the things we truly want anyway?

We must align ourselves with a mindset that helps us focus on what’s good in life.

Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.

Eckhart Tolle

Wallace D. Wattles (1860–1911) was an influential American author best known for his book The Science of Getting Rich (1910) - you can get it here.

Wattles himself is a testament to his teachings. He rose from poverty to live comfortably and securely by applying the principles he wrote about.

He believed in something called Divine Spirit that give us all we need as long as we:

  1. Expect the best in life, and be creative and willing to plan and work for it.

  2. Have a clear mental picture of what we desire.

  3. Constantly maintain this picture in mind, with the certainty that Divine Spirit will supply any rightful desire.

  4. Have gratitude for every good thing received.

Even if you don’t believe in manifestation or spirituality, this can still be applied to your life. It’s very logical. When you have a positive mindset, you will have a positive attitude and you will naturally align yourself with positive things.

Now let me help you take action.

Actionable Step

When my mind is trying to tun laps on negativity this is the stuff I do.

  • Gratitude for the Basics: if you woke up today healthy, with food to eat and a roof over your head, you’re already wealthier than millions. Sometimes, it’s the things we take for granted that are the most valuable.

  • Shift Your Perspective: remember when you wished for a house, a car, or even just a moment of peace? You have those now. They were once dreams, and today they’re your reality. Keep dreaming, but don’t forget to celebrate how far you’ve come

  • Celebrate the Small Wins: big goals are exciting, but don’t forget to celebrate the little things: a productive day, a kind gesture, or even a good cup of coffee. Those small joys make life beautiful.

  • Use "At Least" Thinking: missed a promotion? At least you have a steady job to fall back on. Feeling lonely? At least you’ve experienced love before and can find it again. 'At least' thinking helps us see the silver lining.

  • Recognize Temporary Struggles: remember, nothing lasts forever—not even the bad days. If you’re struggling now, keep pushing forward. Tomorrow might surprise you with something amazing you would look like if hesitation wasn’t holding you back.

If you apply those you will have a more grateful attitude towards life and I am sure it will make you feel better about whatever you’re going through at the moment.

Try day by day to complain less and find things to be grateful about.
