You won't find your purpose

Sorry, it's not happening

“I’m just trying to find my purpose.”

As if purpose is a hidden treasure buried in a desert.

As if you’ll trip over it one day and everything will finally make sense.

In reality, it won’t make sense. Ever.

First of all, what’s even “purpose”? Why do you even need one to live?

Most people throw around "purpose" like it's some mystical, profound thing that's supposed to change your life forever.

But when you really think about it, “purpose" is just a fancy word for "what you consistently choose to care about and do something about."

A purpose isn’t given, you need to create it.

It's not some cosmic mission handed down from above. It's literally just what you decide matters enough to you that you're willing to show up for it repeatedly.

We’re taught that one day, you wake up, something will click and life will suddenly become this fairy tale where you have this epiphany about what you should be doing with your life and you get to it.

This delusional and passive mindset leads people to wander, stuck in endless contemplation instead of active creation.

You scroll through social media, watch others living “their purpose,” and feel like you’re still lost. It traps you in comparison.

But the truth is simple…

Most people, including those you admire, probably haven’t figured it out either.

They’re just going with the flow, even with doubt, doing what they are drawn to without overthinking it.

The problem is from a young age, most people are trained to…

Sit still. Follow instructions. Wait to be picked. Trust authority.

Be a “good” student, employee, citizen.

So when it comes to purpose, that same programming kicks in.

They assume it must be something already written, already decided that will be handed to them.

Something to receive, not something to create.

That’s the lie. Life is what you make of it.

The meaning of life is the one you assign.

Purpose is the result of what you commit to.

You don’t build it waiting for clarity.

Because clarity is only found through living, taking action and experiencing things.

Doesn’t matter how many books, YouTube tutorials or meditation sessions you do.

Purpose is revealed through daily motion, through self-discovery and self-actualization.

Also, your purpose might shift overtime. In a year it might be something, in another year you might pivot completely.

Lean into what draws your curiosity at the moment, doesn’t matter what it is.

The biggest issue is most people don’t even know themselves to make that decision. They live oblivious to their likes, dislikes, and don’t take enough action to ever find out. They follow the program of what they’re expected to like and dislike.

They are so consumed with external distractions and conforming that they lose touch with who they are.

They know the latest celebrity gossip, a movie character entire lore or what’s going on in politics but don’t know what they truly like or dislike in life, who they are and what they are living for.

That’s the importance of self-awareness and staying in tune with yourself.

Look within. You need to switch from consumption to creation. From passiveness to action.

Next time you catch yourself saying “I don’t know my purpose,” and feel the urge to remain stagnant waiting for an aswer, switch your attitude.

Ask yourself: “What can I build that matters to me right now?”

Do something now. Start building. Start experimenting. Try things out. Pay attention to how these things make you feel.

Live life accordingly to what draws your attention.

Listen to your intuition, at all times.

💡Just an idea

Your purpose isn't waiting to be found, it's waiting to be built. Stop searching and start creating. The world needs what you're capable of building, not what you're trying to find.

Keep building.
